Abstract
The aims of this research were to establish the prototypical love acts and the similarities in assessment of typical love acts between men and women, and to find out whether there was a correlation between mate value and own/partner`s love acts. Participants were students (N = 169 in frst part of research and N = 124 in second part) and mean result of their years was 22 in first part of research and 20 in second part. We used 40 love acts from David Buss research on American sample (1988; according to Sternberg, 1988) and Mate value inventory, Kirsner, Figueredo & Jacobs, 2003 (Tokić, 2006; Tadinac, Kamenov, Jelić, Hromatko, 2005). The relationship was found between ranking of 40 love acts on Croatian and American sample and between men and women in ranking love acts. We found no statisticaly significant correlation between difference in mate value and love acts. It would be valuable for other researchers to establish the expectance of love acts from a real partner and to find out its effects on the results.
