Abstract
The aim was to examine the effects of acute alcohol intoxication on the choice reaction time. Each participant (N=23) received 4 different dose of alcohol (placebo, 0.3, 0.5 i 0.8 in the blood). They performed a go/no-go task that required quick responses to go targets and suppression of responses to no-go target. Performance of easier task included dominant hand and performance of complex task included both hands. Analyze indicates that the effect of alcohol had a significant influence on reaction time. Results concerning the simple task showed that there is a significant influence of alcohol between placebo and 0.5 dose and placebo and 0.8 dose. Results showed that there is significant influence of alcohol for the complex task especially for stimulus who were presented in periphery field of vision (between placebo and 0.5 dose, placebo and 0.8, and 0.3 dose and 0.8 dose). Alcohol had no influence on the number of errors for both type of tasks. Conclusion: the results indicated that alcohol in general significantly slowed reaction time but did not increase number of errors.
