Abstract
Communication is one of the key elements of human activities, actions and interactions with the environment. The development of modern telecommunications and information technologies has enabled the emergence of new forms of dynamic interactive communication centered on the use of technology which stands out mixed use of mobile and internet technologies, with particular emphasis on the growing importance of communications using internet technologies. From the aspect of the internet as a medium, communication of using the original Web 1.0 technology was completely static with very low level of interaction. The introduction of Web 2.0 technology, which is associated with a host of new internet technologies enabled the dynamics of interaction via the Internet.
The evolution of internet technology has enabled the development of technologies and systems within the education system. E-learning is one such systems. In this segment, Republic of Croatia significantly had less developed e-learning systems than European countries that invest significantly more resources to the modernization and development of interactive communication in the education system. One of the functional segments in the work of school is the school library that students use during in their educational programs.
The aim of the graduate thesis is to determine the potential role of new media such as the internet for internal communication in schools in the Republic of Croatia, with an emphasis on the use of e-learning, and to determine how new media encourage process improvement of learning in schools. Special emphasis is on identifying the role and the possibility of further involvement of the school library and the librarian in the further implementation and development of e-learning. The study involves a multidisciplinary approach because it includes theoretical knowledge and facts in the field of communications, sociology, psychology, school pedagogy, telecommunications and information technology.
All of these issues are given as a task in this paperwork.
