Abstract
In a contemporary university and academic setting, adequate computing infrastructure is becoming an integral part of everyday business operations of university staff, successful scientific research, as well as the educational process. Therefore, it is very important to continually research, introduce and implement in production environments, advanced computing technologies and centralized modular systems with the goal of not only simplifying existing operations in all academic branches, but also to successfully follow global educational trends and processes. Several modern technologies with the accompanying physical infrastructure and adequate implementation, in the sense of centralization and consolidation, fulfill these requirements. This paper presents the relevant information regarding applicable advanced technologies and practices, while outlining the procedure for building a generalized model for a successful implementation and sustainable development of modern computing infrastructure, with regard to academic users and campus oriented centralized datacenter.
