Abstract
This thesis deals with social stigmatization and tries to answer the question: "Can the quality and goal-oriented interaction, established between stigmatized and the rest of society under the aegis of the theatre, result in a new and common action which can overcome the need for stigmatization?" To answer that question, an innovative combination of sociology and theatre is developed here in the form of dramatic-action research which, guided by the principles of Michael Burawoy's public sociology, aims to achieve the scientifically based insights into an issue of social stigma. Also, this research aims to encourage positive social change through activism and education.
