Abstract

This thesis is trying to look into latent and obvious messages concerning war that are constantly tranferred thro movies. Content analysis of 20 Hollywood war movies of which 10 had Pentagon help and 10 hadn´t, showed significant differences in representation of war, military and attempts of justifications of war. Two groups showed no significant differences in portrayal of enemy. Although methods changed and became more subtle these actions can be defined as propaganda.
