Abstract

The research was conducted to help us understand how deeply religious young men describe sexually explicit materials; whether they use them and how they feel during and after using that kind of materials. The sample consisted of 20 deeply religious men of 18 to 26 years of age, and the method of research used was half-structured interview. It was found that deeply religious young men did not approve of the existence and usage of sexually explicit materials, although some of them tended to use that kind of materials after all. Furthermore, those deeply religious young men who did use sexually explicit materials reported that, while they experienced pleasure viewing such materials, afterwards met with some unpleasant feelings, such as despair, guilt or anger.
