Abstract

The goal of this study was to assess the role of aggression in the prediction of perception of organizational justice and to examine the mediating role of distributive, procedural and interactional organizational justice on the relationship of explicit and implicit aggression and counterproductive work behavior. For this purpose 194 employed individuals completed a battery of instruments. We assessed explicit personality using the Croatian adaptation of the Buss Perry brief aggression questionnaire (BAQ; Webster et al., 2014) and implicit aggression using the Croatian version of the Conditional reasoning test for aggression (CRT-A; Galić et al., 2014). For the assessment of perception of organizational justice we translated Moorman´s (1991) Questionnaire of distributive justice, Questionnaire of procedural justice and Ouestionnaire of interactional justice. The incidence of counterproductive work behaviors was assessed using the Croatian translation of the Questionnaire of counterproductive work behavior (Spector et al., 2006). The results indicate that explicit aggression significantly predicts the perception of distributive injustice, while implicit aggression significantly predicts the perception of procedural injustice. Distributive justice mediates the relationship of explicit aggression and counterproductive work behavior, and procedural justice mediates the relationship of implicit aggression and counterproductive work behavior.
