Abstract
This paper deals with a development of diferent modes and methods that help children learn about oral tradition through a museum workshop. The museum workshop, as a case of study of this paper, was held in the Ethnographic museum of Istria in mid October 2015 to show the development and learning process of children on a concrete example. The subject of the museum workshop was intangible heritage, or more specifically, learning about and awareness of oral tradition, oral legends and folklore. The paper includes learning theories of pedagogues and psychologists and the multimodal learning theory which supports the use of multiple modes and media for learning such as drama, art, language and literature, music, motion etc. They are all exemplified in the case, both through the teaching process and the materials used in the workshop. The paper merges knowledge gained through two study programmes - Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology and Museology and Heritage Management.
