Abstract
It is not uncommon that mental disorders in children and adolescents remain hidden which results in lack of needed treatment. YP-CORE is a short 10-item questionnaire which enables caregivers to evaluate level of general psychological distress. Main aim of this study was to examine diagnostic validity of croatian translation of YP-CORE questionnaire by identifying which cut-off scores distinguish participants depending on their degree of psychopathology. Testing was conducted on non-clinical (n=215) and clinical (n=96) sample aged 9-14. Overall discriminative ability was determined by calculating receiver operating characteristic analysis (ROC) and area under the curve (AUC). Also sensitivity and specificity were taken into account. Cut-off score 12 may be used to distinguish clinical from non-clinical participants. Overall internal consistency Cronbach alpha was α=.883. These findings suggest that YP-CORE is valuable test with good reliablity and diagnostic validity and therefore can be used for triage in different environments.
