Abstract

This paper presents the results of content analysis of 400 biggest Croatian companies carried out on a sample of 172 official websites. The aim of this study was to empirically research organizational ie. corporate culture of the biggest Croatian companies in accordance with the modern trends of the rising influence of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development, to shed light on the way the company construct corporate culture through the values of social responsibility, also to determine the level of implementation of corporate social responsibility through corporate practice , as an important factor of corporate culture, and to compare the constituent elements and dimensions of corporate social responsibility within the organizational culture. The results showed that the corporate social responsibility is an integral part of the organizational culture of the biggest Croatian companies. We found that at least one of the elements of corporate social responsibility is reflected in all examined dimensions of corporate culture. Although the impact of social responsibility is sometimes a major factor affecting the corporate culture, we could not confirm its dominance in all dimensions. However it turned out that most of the analyzed web pages in all dimensions of corporate culture has aspects of the economic and environmental and social responsibility, but depending on the dimensions of corporate culture, the impact of every single aspect varies. Nonetheless, the survey results indicate that we can talk about the rising trend of socially responsible values in the organizational culture of Croatian companies in relation to the previous period in which this phenomenon was relatively marginal in presence.
