Abstract
Devised theatre/collaborative creation, in which the majority of performance material is created collaboratively by the company during rehearsals, is being slowly institutionalized and standardised since the 1980s. The text describes the changes in the aesthetic and methodological frame of devised theatre/collaborative creation, which was initially established in the 1960s and 1970s. Companies are making a shift from collective to collaborative creating, while also supporting creative specialisation of their members. They increasingly trust their audience, and if they choose to thematise performance space, they explore it rather than invade it. Also, they attempt to detect and break free from the newly created habits and norms of the creative process, which appear both in their surrounding and within the company.
