Abstract
The paper deals with the use of bibliotherapy in libraries. Libraries are no longer places without interaction between other users and librarians, where silence is required. One of the activities that can take place in the library is bibliotherapy. Bibliotherapeutic workshops contribute to approachment, raise self-confidence and the participants were able to exchange impressions about books and help themselves and others. The librarian has a significant role in conducting of bibliotherapy. He purchases literature and leads a conversation about impressions and satisfaction gained from each reading. It is important that he is familiar with the participants, problems to be processed and literature intended to be used. Bibliotherapy doesn't treat, but help in the treatment. The librarian must therefore recognize the moment when the process should include specialists such as psychiatrists, psychologists or physicians.
