Abstract
In this master thesis Similarities and differences in the structure's and content's methodological starting point between textbooks for learning Croatian as the mother language and textbooks for learning Croatian as a second and foreign language author analyzed some of the main textbooks. She has tried to analyzed them as a text type by seven constitutive principles by Robert-Alain de Beaugrande and Wolfgang Ulrich Dressler. Also, the content division of textbooks authors have analyzed through the classification of text types by John Searl, which is processed by Nada Ivanetić and she concluded that the textbooks in general belongs to the assertions, while some parts belongs to directives. Except textual analysis, author analyzed differences between teaching Croatian as the mother language and teaching Croatian as a second and foreign language – ini language. Because textbooks are the basic teaching tool in teaching the language, author made their structural and content analysis.
