Abstract

Subject of this thesis are extracurricular sport activities. Specifities and benefits of doing sport activities are represented together with their importance in designing free time. There was research in high school in Varaždin which envolved 127 freshman year students. The purpose od research was to discover how much are extracurricular sport activities used in students leisure time. We investigated how much leisure time do students have, how much they train, did someone guided them towards sport activities, reasons that prevent them from doing sport, what do they think about importance of sport. Results show that 35% of student are engaged in sport, problems that prevent them from training are lack of time and bad schedule of practice. 80% of students said that it was their decision to start playing sport, only smaller part were encouraged by parents or teachers of PTE. Large number of students belives that it is important to do sport, 96%. Also, 80% of students wants to try new sport.
