Abstract
Digitization projects have almost become an integral part of each institution that preserves its analogue documents and wants to enhance its services, regardless of whether they are providing services externally or internally. One of those examples is a national project „Croatian Cultural Heritage“ that helps institutions, most of which are libraries and archives, to study the state of their paper documents and to provide them financial assistance in achieving the goals of digitization projects. Digitization projects are more widespread abroad, for example, the Californian Digital Library at the University of California, which undertakes mass digitization of all copies of books in its possession. In order to carry out the project in the best possible way the IFLA Guidelines for digitization projects for collection and holdings in the public domain, particularly those held by libraries and archives, and SCRUM project methodology were used as the reference documents. They are just few of the available projects-writing aids. In order to make a good digitization project proposal, a project application form was used, which is available on the web site of „Croatian Cultural Heritage“.
