Abstract
Audiovisual material today is increasingly present and it is important to present it as a very important source of information that the library offers to its users. In order to make access to users as simple as possible, it is necessary to align the audiovisual material with the development of the technology, that is, the media on which this material appears. At the beginning, it will be carried out a historical review of ISBD and Area 0 will be presented as an important novelty of the ISBD. Furthermore, it will be explained what audiovisual material is and will be adduced comparasion of the two International Standard Bibliographic Description, ISBD (NBM) and consolidated edition of ISBD, combined with group comparisons. At the end, a practical example of cataloging audiovisual unit of material in Zagreb City Libraries will be presented.
