Abstract

The paper speaks of the City Library Petrinja, since its founding in 1842, until the appearance of the initiative for the construction of a new building. The City Library Petrinja is based on its development of services, which it strives to improve throught the use of new ICT technologies, focusing on the needs of users. Proving the importance of its existense and development, in cooperations with the founder, City of Petrinja, succeedes in launching a project to build a new library as a third space. In addition to this, the paper brings a results of a research of satisfaction/dissatisfaction of the users with the existing space, whose results suport the need for building a new space.
