Abstract
According to user wishes and needs for quality content in the online enviroment, information institutions have a goal of providing their best service through social networks, blogs and their own web sites. Similar practices among information institutions are also conducted by archives. Through the online enviroment, as well as in the physical enviroment, archives provide basic information about their own funds and collections, rules of arrangement, evaluation and preservation of materials, use of archival space etc. Apart from such information, in the period of digital content growth, new capabilities of searching and browsing of content on the Internet, archives are obliged to offer similar services to users on their web sites. The aim of this paper is to analyze the current state of state archive web sites in Croatia and to compare them with web sites of foreign archives in order to resent the potential areas of progress for the web sites of Croatian archives.
