Abstract

This reflection will attempt to show public libraries as institutions of open access and as cultural focal points - the third community space. At the beginning of the paper there is a theoretical framework to set the foundation for further elaboration. After that, practical examples will be elaborated - Zagreb City Libraries and Library of Bogdan Ogrizović. From these examples, it will ultimately be possible to draw a conclusion, that is whether the practice works in the way it should be in theory.
