Abstract

In diploma thesis is described importance of public libraries and their local history collections which represents historical and cultural development of a certain area. Special attention is on local history collections Zagrabiensia, Belovarensia and Sibenicensia. Briefly is described a National project "Croatian cultural heritage". The importance of digitalization is described briefly on City libraries of Zagreb. In fold of National project "Croatian cultural heritage" is discribed digitalization of a Local history collection of Town library and reading-room Vinkovci which has mostly old newspapers and magazines because all local history collection is destroyed 1991. year in war.
