Abstract
The topic of this paper is the question of human freedom in choosing sexual orientation and corresponding behaviour, respectively, the sexual freedom of the individual and the influence of social determinations on it. The aim of the paper is to present and analyse different views on these issues and thereby accentuate the issue of paedophilia which is an example in which the imposition of limits on human sexuality can be examine. The question of sexuality, in general and in individual cases, will be observed pluriperspectively, with stress on the philosophical-ethical and to some extent political and legal dimension. Is sexuality a natural phenomenon or a social construct? If there are limits to human sexuality, who is allowed to determine them and who can do that? Can we talk about natural or unnatural, in a sense of deviant, or there are many sexualities? In what way can a human sexuality be legally regulated? What is the link between ethical and legal regulation? Does sexuality have a moral component at all or is it always a process whose immorality derives from something that is not necessarily from this sexual part? The concept that matters within the question of sexuality is consent. The question that arises is when or, actually, from what age do we accept someone’s consent as such? Is it not the case that the age limit for entering in sexual relations is a bit arbitrary? Can we indeed forbid the relation just because someone have a certain number of years?
