Abstract
This paper discusses Health education within Croatian schools in the period between two World wars. A crucial change in health education was its transformation from an occasional activity of enthusiastic individuals and humanitarians to a defined activity conducted by specialised institutions, such as Ministry of education, Ministry of Health, The School of Public Health and various other schools.Law of Public schools from 1929. introduces Hygiene as a school subject, which is designed to raise hygiene awareness within school kids from the youngest age.
Cooperation between the state, schools and ministries resulted in a substantial progress and set some milestones in the Croatian Health Education System. Based on archival sources and secondary literature, this paper presents various methods of health education at schools in the interwar Croatia.
