Abstract

This thesis comprises five annotated translations, accompanied by a discussion. Excerpts from two books were translated from English into Croatian (G. Hofstede, GJ Hofstede and M. Minkov: Cultures and Organizations: Software of the Mind. Intercultural Cooperation and Its Importance for Survival and Willetts, David: A University Education), and one from Croatian into English (Škare, Andrija: Društvene igre). The museum guide Vodič antičke zbirke and Cochrane's medical articles had to be translated from Croatian into English. The discussion focused on the translation of idioms, collocations and terms in compliance with the rules of the source language and the target language.
