Abstract
Information technology greatly facilitates learning and enhances the interaction that a user achieves using digital content. This thesis deals with theoretical and practical aspects of language content that are created for later use in real situations. Using various tools and Web 2.0 technology, content will be systematized and digitally usable for work, where the user will be able to participate in developing them. In conducting of the research, a web site has been created that allows an informal form of learning a completely unknown foreign language for speakers of different ages and different levels of digital literacy in life stressful conditions (Croatian language learning for speakers of Arabic) using English as an intermediary language. The target group are asylum seekers, whose integration into society is more difficult because of the language barrier. The evaluation of the implementation of the created resource for 25 users (asylum grantees and asylum seekers) was conducted, and a need for further work on collecting and creating content for Croatian language learning was established. Research has shown the impact and the ability to apply information and communication technologies to language learning and their use in everyday communication and exchange of information.
