Abstract

This paper discusses photography as a dynamic discipline perceived as a meeting point of the Self and the Other. Due to distinctive ways of seeing, experiencing the field which resembles anthropological field, and ways of approaching the Other, photography is in a way perceived as anthropology. The paper discusses duality of photography seen as aspect of reality and concept subject to interpretation. Self-reflexivity particularly stands out through process of photography and the establishment of relationship with the Other. Power acquired through the position behind the lens is relinquished.
