Abstract
This thesis deals with the possibilities of interpretation, didactic approach and including the novel Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov in the curriculum. The first part introduces some basic literary concepts important for understanding the novel. Furthermore, the concept of required reading in high schools is elaborated. The second part of this thesis suggests the possible didactic approaches for the interpretation of the novel in the classroom. Two studies on introducing Lolita in the curriculum are presented in the last part of the thesis. This part pays special attention to an overview of research methodology, aims of parents` and students` attitudes research, hypotheses, methods and procedures which include the description of the sample, instrument and data collection and processing. Finally, the result analysis and discussion for each study are provided.
