Abstract

Boarding schools as institutions belong in the system of high school education and they replace the family home for those pupils who attend schooling outside of their place of residence. The main subjects of educational work in boarding schools are pupils and educators and the quality of their interaction is one of the key aspects that affect the successfulness of education. The communication skills of educators are very important in this regard because the educators have to lead this interaction and teach their pupils about quality communication, tolerance, understanding and respect between the collocutors by way of their own example. A qualitative research on the perception of educators regarding their own communication with pupils, pedagogues and headmasters was carried out. The results of this research indicate that educators have an awareness of the importance of communication in their everyday work and that they also have the necessary qualifications. Some of the answers given by the research subjects regarding research questions differed based on the influence of the independent variable of length of work experience, while the pedagogue and educators seemed to have a similar perception of their mutual communication.
