Abstract

For the purpose of introduction into the matter and structure of the paper, the theoretical basis of Langacker's Cognitive Grammar is laid out, as well as a view of the major theoretical approaches that take part in the modelling of cognitive linguistic phenomena of functionalism, computational theory and connectionism. The conclusion seeks out connections between cognition and possible patterns of machine emulation.
