Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between employees’ time perspective and self-evaluation of job performance as a whole, as well as the manager’s job performance evaluation. The study was conducted on a sample of 317 participants. The results showed that employees with dominant future time perspective and dominant present hedonistic time perspective assessed themselves significantly more successful than other employees, while managers evaluated employees of predominantly future time perspective as the most successful. Differences between self-evaluation and manager’s job performance evaluation where not statistically significant, although the results showed the expected direction. Employees of the future, present and past positive hedonistic time perspective evaluated themselves more successful in communicating with colleagues and superiors and in communication with users than employees of predominantly present fatalistic and past negative time perspective. Employees of future time perspective estimated they invest more effort in the job and adhere better to the rules in relation to the employees of other time perspective. Employees with a dominant score on the dimension of the future and employees with a dominant score on the dimension of the present hedonistic time perspective estimated to be more successful than other employees. Employees with the dominant result in past positive, past negative and present fatalistic time perspective evaluated themselves as somewhat less efficient than other employees.
