Abstract

The dissertation is based on the assumption that the Croatian language teaching in four year vocational schools is carried out through two programs: the school plan and program from 1997, and the curriculum of Croatian language which is the integral part of the curriculum for vocational schools and has been undergoing its experimental implementation from the school year 2012./2013. Based on the insights and conclusions that the author reached during her Ph.D. studies of literature, performing arts, film and culture on the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb and for many years of teaching practice in vocational high school, she came up with a proposal to improve the curriculum of Croatian language teaching with regard to its content and display multifarious ways and examples of its empirical implementation in the class of Croatian language in the fourth grade.
