Abstract
The aim of this study was to provide further insight in the construct of proactivity. In this research we tried to evaluate the Proactivity questionnaire - R reliability and factorial structure as well as to study the differences in the proactivity level between female students of Faculty of Economics in Zagreb and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. Also, the aim of this study was to research the correlation between personality traits and the proactivity level. The study included a total of 248 participants. The results were collected using the Proactivity questionnaire - R and the personality test BFI–44 (Big Five Inventory-44). The Proactivity questionnaire - R has shown sufficient reliability, and factorial analysis suggested the existence of two factors: Tendency for change and Tendency for planning. The study showed that Proactivity questionnaire – R demonstrated stability of psychometric characteristics in two different samples. Extraversion, conscientiousness and openness are positively correlated to the proactivity level, neuroticism is negatively correlated to the proactivity level whereas agreeableness is not correlated to the proactivity level.
