Abstract
This work discusses the importance of style during the translation process and is as such based on five translated texts belonging to different text types. As I believed that the appropriate analysis of the impact of style on translation could not be done without first giving a proper overview of the most important theoretical tenets with respect to style, I present at the beginning of this work some basic theoretical principles and thoughts with this regard, both in Croatian theory and abroad. In the second part of this work, these theoretical postulates are illustrated on the examples from the translated texts, two of which are source texts in Croatian, and three are in English. In that sense, the content of the second part describing examples is substantiated by the theory in the first part.
