Abstract
This paper first provides an overview of the phenomenon of youth language, different approaches to the subject and difficulties arising in his investigation. Usual research methods (questionnaires, interviews, recordings, new media) are briefly presented together with all their advantages and disadvantages. In addition to that, the article presents possibilities of applying youth language in teaching German as a foreign language as a lesson topic, as project word and encouragement of pupils in the process of teaching German grammar.
