Abstract
This paper investigates the role of video games in learning English. The research
conducted examined learners’ perception of how much vocabulary they have acquired
through video games. It has been found that video games can have a profound effect on
language learning, especially if they are used in combination with other activities. Video
games alone might not be the appropriate tool to learn a language and its vocabulary, but
combining video games with activities that make use of learners’ productive skills may prove
very beneficial.
