Abstract
This diploma thesis presents a proposal of secondary school student project in Art. The project is
dedicated to the Pre-Raphaelites, a group of artists who lived during the second half of the 19th
century. Their influence can also be seen and recognised in art and popular culture even today.
The paper emphasizes the importance of the interdisciplinarity as a contemporary teaching
approach in Art. Using this approach the subject matter in Art is connected to knowledge
acquired in other subjects. For this project, the works of Pre-Raphaelite art were selected to
indicate the interdisciplinary correlations between subjects. For each of the topics in the project,
methodical exercises were proposed to help students learn the subject matter. This improves the
quality of the teaching and learning processes and can make the learning process easier and more
interesting. As a reflection of the Pre-Raphaelites in art and popular culture, film art was pointed
out. This project is planned as a series of extra lessons on the subject of the Pre-Raphaelites as an
addition to the curriculum of Art as a secondary school subject.
