Abstract

The paper Utjecaj računalne tehnologije na usvajanje znanja presents results of a study into the influence of computer technologies on the learning process in the German language among high school students at the Zlatar highschool in Zlatar, Croatia. The study aimed to measure and test the knowledge of two groups of students after each group had a different approach while learning new materials. One group had a traditional organized class of German language, while the other group of students used computers and specially designed learning materials for that occasion. The theme of the class were countries in which the German language is an official language. The study combined two tests, the first test had a goal to measure the preknowledge of students that referred to the theme of the class, while the second test was used to measure the knowledge that students mastered during the class. Some of the questions which appeared in the first test were repeated in the second one to measure the progress of students knowledge. The results were used to confirm the hypothesis that students who visited one of the countries where German is an official language will have a better result on the first test. Also, the results of the second test showed and confirmed that students who had used computers in the class had a better score and better progress than the other group.
